Goodbye to my old website
Published:
I’ve been rebuilding my academic website, which means it’s time to say goodbye to the old one.
I built it at a very different stage of my PhD (towards the end of my first year!) when I was still figuring out what I actually wanted an academic website to be and learning just enough HTML to get things working.
Now I am overwriting it with this new shiny website, I wanted to keep a little snapshot of it here.

I want something a bit cleaner, easier to update, and a bit more reflective of where I am now - both in terms of my research and how I want to present it.
Rebuilding the site has been very enjoyable (thank you hyperfocus
and helped by old Barbie films playing in the background, which I highly recommend as a coding environment).
It’s also been a nice way to see how much has changed - not just in what I’ve done, but in how I think about my work.
The old site did exactly what it needed to do at the time. It got me through most of my PhD, gave me a space to showcase my work and taught me a lot along the way.
And now it’s time for an upgrade.
